Your Responsibilities
As an Engineer Product II - Robotics (CA) for John Deere in Austin, TX, you will:
  • Define software applications to increase the automation on an agricultural planter machine;
  • Work with computer vision and machine learning applications;
  • Work with C/C++ software development;
  • Define system architecture; define system requirements;
  • Lead product release schedule;
  • Perform system performance and agronomic data analysis;
  • Lead collaboration across development teams.
  • Up to 20% domestic travel required. Must live within normal commuting distance of worksite. Up to 30% remote work allowed.

What Skills You Need
  • 3 months of experience in wrangle and analyze agronomical datasets to draw conclusions and develop prediction models
  • Any amount of experience in use and understand CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol on agricultural equipment to generate datasets for future product development and analysis
  • 3 months of experience in product development experience with a defined delivery schedule, engineering deliverables, and quality metrics in a collaborative R&D environment
  • Any amount of experience in analyze planting specific datasets while considering agronomical outcomes to conduct research on corn and soybean emergence and geo-location

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field plus 3 months related experience.
